Session 1 Continued: Series Book Readers Collect Information about the Main Characters 1. Continue to flag or take notes on things that you are noticing to help you collect information about your star characters. 2. Please share what you’ve learned about the “stars” of your book so far. Try to share at least 3 things that you flagged that you learned about your character. :)

Please watch the video from Miss Mikle (Compare Numbers Video) and complete math workbook page 317-318. You can do the Check Understanding on your own or with the help of an adult. Please have an adult look over your work and send back to me when completed.

4-30-20 Writing
You have been working on producing one high quality piece of writing this week. So far, you’ve written the beginning and middle. Today, I want you to: 1. Reread what you’ve written so far. You can make changes or work on correcting any spelling errors you notice. 2. Today, you will write the ending of your writing piece. Watch the video of Miss Mikle teaching you how to write a good ending. (Opinion Writing: Ending *Review from video: Your ending should be one or more sentences that brings your piece of writing to a close. Do this by restating your point of view again in some way with a final thought or feeling. 3. When you finish writing your ending, use the OREO format checklist below to make sure you included all parts in your writing. 4. Then, check your writing for correct capitalization, punctuation and spelling. 5. Last, share your writing with me on SeeSaw. I can’t wait to read your writing! **Double-Stuffed OREO Format for Opinion Writing: Beginning: ____Do you have a Hook or Lead sentence before your opinion statement? ____Do you have a sentence stating your opinion? Middle: ____Do you have a sentence that gives a reason? ____Do you have a sentence that explains that reason? ____Do you have a sentence that gives a second reason? ____Do you have a sentence that explains that reason?
