An order form for this year's yearbook is coming home with your child tonight. The order forms and money are due by Monday, February 17th. The yearbooks will arrive close to the end of the school year. Suamico always has time on one of the last days of school for yearbook signing, which the kiddos love doing. If you have questions, please feel free to contact the school office.

Happy Birthday, Coralyn!
Happy 8th Birthday, Coralyn!!
We enjoyed celebrating with you today and loved your yummy cupcakes! The strawberries inside were such a unique and creative idea! We hope your birthday is as special and sweet as you are!
Teacher Desk Take-Over
Yesterday, Miss Sierra used up 250 of her dojos to buy my desk for a day! She got to decorate it with things from home and sit there all day! She sure did have fun!
Cotton Ball Punting Measuring Activity
Last week, the 2nd graders got to work on a cotton ball "punting" (or flicking) activity. They flicked their cotton balls off of a table or desk and then their teammates needed to work together to measure how far each flick was.

Updates and Reminders
We sure do have a lot to look forward to in our classroom! Here are a few reminders:
Friday, February 7th: Suamico's Annual Sweetheart Auction. A flyer is coming home tonight that includes one free ticket! Be sure to look for it in your child's take home folder.
Monday, February 10th: The 100th Day of school! The whole school is invited to dress like you're 100! Think sweaters, tucked in checkered shirts, glasses, loafers, rollers in your hair... the possibilities are endless! I told the kiddos that if they dress like they are 100, I will award them 100 dojos! That's my best deal of the school year! :) Check out Pinterest or other sites for tips if you need help. Here are some images I found on Pinterest:

Message from Mrs. Foley
Here is a message from our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Foley. Kindness Bingo Cards will be coming home with your child tonight. Please read the directions below. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Mrs. Foley. Thank you!
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Our class will be participating in a school-wide Student Council sponsored Kindness Challenge during the month of February. Your son/daughter will be given a bingo card with several acts of kindness on it that they will be asked to complete, in any order, over the month of February. By encouraging your child to participate in the kindness challenge they could experience physical, social, and emotional benefits and lasting character building values. It's a win/win situation for your child, classmates, and the whole school community! Once your child has completed the bingo card, please spend some time looking/talking it over with him/her and sign and return it to me. When I receive the completed and signed bingo card I will then give your child a special kindness award. Their bingo card will then be placed in a whole-grade level bin to be randomly drawn for a bigger prize and recognition over the school announcements. Ultimately, we want to encourage kindness in/outside of school. Please let me know if you have any questions about the process and thank you for your support!
